Job Overview:

The manager is to work with the VP of Reimbursement to ensure all Medicare and Medicaid Hospital cost reports and support schedules are submitted by due date and meet regulations. Manager is to ensure all third-party schedules are completed monthly.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Must have at least eight years experience in a hospital setting primarily related to hospital reimbursement and Medicare and Medicaid cost report filings.

  • Successful completion of all required orientation programs.

Preferred:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Accounting/Finance. MBA preferred.

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Full-time, Day

Essential Functions:

  • Oversees and assists with the preparation of traditional Medicare and Medicaid hospital cost reports and government audits.

  • Utilizes many complex and varying regulations, guidelines and systems to ensure Medicare and Medicaid compliance and accurate reimbursement.

  • Advice the VP of Reimbursement on trends, problems, and issues related to traditional Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement.

  • Assist the VP of Reimbursement in analyzing the impact of proposed and final government regulations on the system.

  • Assists the VP of Reimbursement in providing hospital leadership with the knowledge necessary to maintain required government regulations.

  • Directs the system activities concerned with third party reimbursement.

  • Prepares annual Medicare/Medicaid and Chapter 160 Cost Reports for system hospitals.

  • Liaison with third party auditors.

  • Reviews Data Reporter.

  • Reviewing Medicare bad debt logs.

  • Evaluates and reports on reimbursement issues.

  • B-2 Quarterly submission.

  • Annual DSH Survey.

  • Review Physician Time Studies for appropriateness.

  • Compiles, reviews, and inputs Interns and Resident IRIS data. Completes 855 s for changes in Medicare status.
