Citigroup Wealth Finance – FP&A Lead Analyst V.P. (C13), Lending in New York, New York

The role reports into the Lead Finance Officer of Wealth Products, and works closely with the FP&A Group Manager: Lending and supports the financial performance aspects of the Lending products, as well as develops and supports the implementation of loan-related pricing and balance sheet optimization actions. This role supports the Wealth Head of Lending and partners closely with the business product team and line of business finance staff. The FP&A Lead Analyst will act as a trusted and strategic advisor to the lending product leadership.

The Financial Planning and Analysis Lead Analyst is a senior professional role responsible for providing management with an analysis and insight of Wealth Lending’s financial results in coordination with the broader Finance team. The overall objective is to contribute to directional strategy as well as utilize in-depth specialty knowledge to provide advice/counsel on the evaluation of financial reports of Citi’s current and projected performance. This role specifically supports the Wealth Lending businesses, looking across the Private Bank, Wealth at Work, and Citigold/CPC client segments.

This role requires:

1) Ability to interact with senior business leaders as well as partner with all areas of finance and other functions.

2) Enthusiasm to learn new businesses and products and adapt to evolving markets.

3) Ensure the tools are in place to provide accurate and timely analytical support.

4) Flexibility to quickly pull together data and analysis accurately and provide insight to support to Finance and the business.

5) Desire to work closely with the Lending business seniors and front line. Where appropriate, the person will be expected to identify and recommend solutions that will lead to greater efficiency in supporting the businesses.

Responsibilities:

  • Monthly and ad-hoc/strategic analysis of Lending financials and significant contribution to the monthly business review materials for the product

  • Coordinate all financial deliverables including monthly business commentary for product drivers of revenues, and business drivers of changes in significant balance sheet items

  • Ad-hoc presentations for Senior business meetings

  • Provide business and finance leadership with an understanding of monthly drivers and performance and the implications on forward looking forecasts; conduct what-if analysis under various scenarios

  • Coordinate the quarterly CCAR/QMMF process and the annual business plan at the pre-requisite levels.

  • Project management of the modelling and aggregation process as part of the Ruby mechanism, coordination and implementation among multiple internal and external stakeholders

  • Partner with business, finance partners on the development of converged capital planning and business planning forecasting models and approaches, incorporating key quantitative and qualitative drivers of the lending balances, revenues and related metrics

  • Becoming the business trusted advisor at the business sub-product level for Balance Sheet products

  • Building close business partnerships across the Wealth business community and being the point of contact on client segment Balance Sheet product revenues and balances for multiple partners across Citi, including Treasury, Corporate P&A, Risk and others

Qualifications:

  • Good working knowledge of wealth management businesses; knowledge and experience in lending related products including wholesale lending and mortgage lending a plus

  • Prior FP&A experience or similar

  • Knowledge of Citi Finance systems such as Pearl/Ruby is a plus

  • Working with multiple stakeholders

  • Demonstrated strength in financial analysis.

  • 6-10 years of relevant experience

  • Proficient computer skills with a focus on Microsoft Office applications

  • Demonstrated presentation skills and consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills

  • An analytical & questioning mindset, ability to innovate & relate data to business insights

  • Accuracy, attention to detail.

  • Organizational and project management skills, ability to prioritize across multiple deliverables.

  • Ability to interact confidently with senior business leaders

  • A mature & dependable team player with a positive & pro-active attitude

  • Ability to leverage a remote team effectively

  • Working knowledge of Tableau/Python is a plus

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

  • Master’s degree preferred
